Wu Hung

Wu Hung (; born 1945) is a Chinese-American art historian.

Wu was raised in Beijing, and earned a bachelor's degree and Master of Arts from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, then completed a PhD in art history and anthropology at Harvard University. He began teaching at Harvard in 1987, and was promoted to full professor in 1994. At the University of Chicago, Wu holds the Harrie A. Vanderstappen Distinguished Service Professorship of Art History and the College. Wu was awarded a Guggenheim fellowship in 1999, and elected a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2007. From 2015 to 2016, he was the Slade Professor of Fine Art at Oxford University, and gave the 2016 Slade Lecture. Provided by Wikipedia
