Rather, what it is about is offering elements that can help the reader to undertake more systematic surveys of the transformations in the "Russian" perception of Latin America in light of the political changes in "Russia", with a triple emphasis placed on academic Latin Americanism, on the historical dimension and on the geopolitics of the The use of quotation marks for the word "Russia" is due to the fact that, similar to what happens with other regions, the use of a specific place name implies occluding the complex processes that give rise to the formation of a historical-cultural entity . "Russia" in this anthology denotes, in effect, what was the Russian Empire before 1917, the Soviet Union between 1922 and 1991, and the Russian Federation from 1991.
